Are you living out your calling?

On November 17th, join a gathering of committed Christ-followers to talk about how we can steward our vocations. Small groups will gather around topics including Healthcare, Education, Social Services, and the Marketplace. Experienced practitioners will be present to facilitate conversations. Be challenged and have your imagination stretched by stories of Christian response to brokenness in Toronto and the world.

“Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him…”

1 Corinthians 7:17a (ESV)

Panel Discussions

One of the key purposes of Live Called is to provide a space where committed Christ-followers can connect with others who are passionate about living missionally in their vocation. The breakout sessions have been structured to foster that kind of interaction. For each area of focus, a panel of experienced practitioners will share their stories, wisdom, and insight into what missions looks like within their career.

Cliff and Wai Jia Tam.jpg

Cliff Tam

Liver cancer survivor, Ironman triathlete, worked in IT support, missionary to Uganda, Executive Pastor of Lifehouse Church in Mississauga, and Co-Founder of Kitesong Global. Cliff’s life tells a powerful story of miracles, resilience and faith. Join us as he shares his stories of radical obedience, faith-filled trust and complete surrender to the Caller! Read more here.

Wai Jia Tam

Selected in Forbes Asia 2016’s “30 Under 30” list as a world changemaker, Wai Jia’s passion is to help others fulfill the highest mark that God has for their lives. At the age of 19, a life-changing experience transformed her life, when a little dream to write a picture book called “Kitesong” raised more than $110,000 to help children in Nepal. Today, she is a humanitarian physician, an author and illustrator of 4 picture books, and the Founder of Kitesong Global, an international social venture that inspires people to pursue their dreams and transform communities. Her miraculous life stories of radical faith and obedience in both the traditional mission field and life stories in the marketplace, and her overcoming depression and anorexia are a powerful testimony of God’s redemptive power to release us into His higher calling for our lives.

Worship Team

"Hi everyone! We're privileged that we get to lead everyone in musical worship, and just excited in general about this conference. We're not an actual band, but we're just friends that have a passion for God-centered, Christ-exalting, Gospel-focused, theologically sound, and well-written music.  We (Rene, Simon, Steven, and Sam) attend and serve at Markham Chinese Baptist Church. Jordan, our drummer attends and serves at the Bridge. We also have a passion of glorifying God through our work and stewarding our time, gifting, and education to share Christ's love in our workplaces. We pray that your hearts would be encouraged and challenged through this conference!"
