Phil Fung

Phil Fung is a Professional Engineer and Designated Consulting Engineer in Ontario, Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Science in Systems Engineering.

Phil joined SRS Consulting Engineers in 1997, and became its Managing Principal in 2004. In 2012, he accepted the part-time professorship at Humber College teaching Sustainable Buildings Design, Bio-Inspired Buildings design, and Energy Modelling courses. Phil has advised for more than 300 energy efficient buildings design and managed over 1,000,000 m2 of LEED projects across Ontario.

In the course of his career, Phil designed and patented his Vertical Indoor Garden (VIGA™) in early 2014 which was based on biomimetic and biophilic design principles.

Phil brings to the sustainable building design industry many years of experience as a consultant, an engineer, a system designer, an entrepreneur, an educator, and his boundless passion for education.

Carol Yang

Senior Engineer
Ontario Power Generation

Carol, lover of good reads and chocolate, arrived in Canada as a high school student, going on to Queen's University to study Electrical Engineering. She works as a Professional Engineer with Ontario Power Generation, negotiating the difficult path between different stakeholders for the safe and cost effective decommissioning of nuclear facilities.

With over a decade experience in areas of Electrical System Design, Procurement, Project Management, Nuclear Waste Management, Decommissioning, and Enterprise Risk Management, Carol knows that making good technical decisions today impacts future generations.

Her journey to faith is through the love and care of a British Canadian whom reach out to her on the third day after her arrival in Canada. Understanding the immigrant struggles herself, Carol has a heart for the newcomers. She has been in the leadership of ministries such International Student Ministry and Alpha to bring friendship and a sense of home, and to share the good news.
